Tiengen Seismic Station
The station is located at
latitude: 47.6347° N longitude: 8.2674° E height: 352m
Currently I only have a simple vertical seismometer. The design is adapted from the C-spring seismometer.
The seismometer is placed openly on a shelf (which is sub-optimal). Specifically in winter, vibrations of the heating system in the adjacent room increase the background noise level. I may move it outside the house at a later stage. On the upper shelf some old recording equipment is visible: a power supply, the amplifier and the Eee box with the attached AD-converter (old data aquisition and processing).
Since 2018 I use a Raspberry Pi with a SeismicPi HAT SeismicPi HAT for data aquisition and processing. The data aquisition sofware is a modified from this very nice student project: Raspberry Pi seismometer . Heliplots on these web pages are created with help of python scripts utilizing ObsPy.
